Knock-knock, who's there?

"In the next few months, I'm hoping to complete the first in a series of three novels entitled "Knock-Knock, Who's There?" which is loosely based on my life experiences.
It's set in the height of South Africa’s violent apartheid era and tells the story of a young girl who, despite her fanatical religious upbringing and her shadow of rape-shame, evades the future planned for her. The novel portrays volumes of violence, depicting strong political and religious scenes, as well as personal conflicts and abuse. Yet there’s a lack of bitterness, despite it all. Ultimately it leaves the reader with a positive, optimistic and life-affirming message.
The ‘success against all odds’ magic about it would appeal to readers who enjoyed Alexander McCall Smith’s No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series, Wilbur Smith’s Courtney collection and Alexandra Fuller’s memoir Don’t Let’s Go To The Dogs Tonight.
This is the first of three novels which will have the reader experience working in countries torn by civil wars, a family murder, illegally working in the USA, meeting a life partner (online) then, twenty years later, chucking it all in to return to Africa."
