Politics

Animal Laboratories: It may be time for an overhaul of the entire British legal system – a course of legal steroids, so to speak. A progressive and revolutionary change across the board is the only alternative. Think moral conscience, not political conscience, think human rights and then think of an animal’s rights. A legal system that ensures a punishment fitting to the crime should be put in place.

The fall of the British EmpireIt’s been some 30 years since the beginning of the sexual revolution. Through our constant demand for equality in everything, we may find that we have played to feminist card too many times? Have we made males redundant in society as husbands, fathers and providers by removing them from the lives of their children?

Vigilante Landslide: In January 2004 the ANC government ordered heavily armed guards and police to destroy 300 squatter huts and forcibly remove some 3,000 inhabitants from state owned communal grazing land, near Johannesburg. Does the ANC not realise that using teargas, stun grenades, policemen with dogs, evacuation at gunpoint and then bulldozing the shacks in such forced removals are criminal acts and could be construed as reversed apartheid?

Let the killing begin: Zimbabwean land confiscation policies were not only directed at agricultural property but included private game ranches and nature reserves also, leaving the wildlife to the mercy of war veterans.

Where angels fear to tread: I looked about in vain, hoping to find some assistance but instead became transfixed with the rivulets of blood trickling down the inside of the windscreen, pooling on the dashboard. My sons could not speak or react to what they saw – but I swear I witnessed my boys turn into old men in an instant.

The Asian Tsunami: Scientists from the Institute of Dynamics of Geospheres at the Russian Academy of Scicnes have observed that earthquakes can be triggered by human action. "Induced seismic activity caused directly by human involvement has been detected as a result on underground nuclear explosions."

PetroPolitics: Does the United States truly have a war of terrorism or is this the cloak with which they are shrouding petropolitics? It may be a twist of fate, but take a look at a map of the Middle East; it will show you that the ‘war on terror’ is a near blue-print following oil.

Let us pray: The congregation was bowed in Sunday prayer. The church doors burst open and four well armed men stormed in. Women were screaming, men protectively sheltered their loved ones from view - then the loud explosion of automatic rifle fire and pistol shots echoed through the vast church. M26 grenades were thrown into the crowded congregation, silencing those still screaming.

The rape of a nation: The violent culture in South Africa has bred another abomination - babies are being raped, infected with HIV/AIDS and then dumped in trash cans and garbage dumps.

Saint or Sinner: Not so long ago, while preparing to interview a blowhard African-American businessman on a subject unrelated to this article, I was informed that he felt ‘uncomfortable’ about being interviewed by me. He had picked up on my somewhat subtle South African accent and decided I was a racist and referred to me as “one of them”. For a moment, I felt as if all the energy had been sucked out of the room.
